A STUDY ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF INFORMATION SYSTEM BASED ON THE GIS FOR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ON THE HIGH-SPEED LINE

Almost all tracks of Korea high-speed lines consist of bridges and tunnels, so it is difficult to approach the scene of the accident and assist in saving lives under emergency conditions. Therefore it is essential to prepare access methods and available resources in advance in order to response and support emergency promptly and effectively. In this paper various information database systems on tracks and facilities, electric/communication equipment and safety equipment required to support the emergencies related to Korean high-speed lines were implemented. The practical local information in the proximity of high-speed line was identified by drawing the roads accessible to the track on the numerical map, and the development and the application of the information system based on GIS for the purpose of emergency response and its support was proceeded, which can be helpful to request the external organizations such as local authorities, police offices and fire brigades for the emergencies.
