Analytical Assessment of Behavior of Corroded Prestressed Concrete Beams

초록

In this study, authors present results of analytical study of corroded prestressed concrete beams. For this purpose, a computer program, RCAHEST(Reinforced Concrete Analysis in Higher Evaluation System Technology) was used. A modified prestressing steel element can show the interaction between prestressing steel and the concrete of corroded prestressed concrete members. Damage modelling takes into account corrosion and includes the reduction of cross-sectional area of corroded prestressing steel, the decrease of ductility of prestressing steel and the deterioration of concrete strength. The procedure can predict the response of corroded prestressed concrete structures such as deformation and cracking, and damage patterns throughout the load history. The variables considered were corrosion exposure effect, prestressed level and corrosion position effect. The proposed numerical method for prediction of behavior of corroded prestressed concrete beams was verified by comparison with reliable experimental results.
