초록
In order to respond quickly to accidents such as derailment and brake failure etc. of a freight train, railcar real-time monitoring system is required. However, freight is a difficult environment for real-time monitoring because the power is not supplied. Fortunately, the recent low power communication is possible with the development of IoT(Internet of Things) technology which has been utilized in various fields such as a wearable device, car monitoring. In this paper, in order to examine the possibility of utilizing IoT technology from a freight train operating environment, the communication test of IoT was done in the actual driving route. Test results showed good performance in most routes. However, a partial communication failure occurred in the vicinity of the tunnel. However, for use in real-time monitoring it showed satisfactory results.
