We have reviewed the specifications for the first full-line battery-powered low-floor tram that will be commercialized in the world. Unlike conventional railway vehicles, the main features of the vehicle are as follows. The main power supply is supplied from the battery mounted on the vehicle. The signaling device is based on the onboard signaling device and must interface with the signals of the road traffic. It adopts the independent wheel system for easy getting on and off and lowers the vehicle. Since the vehicle uses the existing road, the articulation equipment is used to reduce the turning radius and to increase the indoor space utilization. In order to obtain a large emergency deceleration, a track braking device is used. An embedded rail is used to reduce the level difference with the road surface. The final specification needs to be set in consideration of advanced overseas cases, level of production capability, and local circumstances.
