A STUDY ON THE HEADWAY SETTING OF TEST TRACK FOR LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT

This paper presents the optimal scheme to fulfill the traffic capacity by investigation of signal type, route alignment, and vehicle performance which affect the determination of headway in urban transit system. The headways in case of fixed block system and movable block system are compared with the target headway from a point of minimum operational headway by numerical investigation and vehicle performance analysis. The minimum operational headway is validated when movable block system is applied to KRRI LRT test track.
