초록
Mini-tram (or Personal Rapid Transit) is a new transportation system that can provide direct transport services to destinations without time delays. The mini-tram vehicle is autonomously operated and powered electrically. Wired and wireless power transfer methods based on Electric Vehicle fast charging standards or inductive power transfer technology, are options for powering the mini-tram vehicle. Most importantly, the thermal management strategies to maintain an operating temperature as well as to provide optimized thermal comfort to passengers are very challenging, and these issues are related to reliability and system performance. In this study, computational fluid dynamics simulations were carried out to assess the thermal performance of the vehicle. As a result, high thermal loads, close to the critical point permitted for safe operation, were observed for the condenser of the air-conditioner, but it was also demonstrated that thermal loads reduced by 26 % were achieved by additional consideration of the air intake holes in front of a vehicle. In addition, the predictions of thermal comfort under hot summer and cold winter conditions were performed by evaluation based on the ‘predicted mean vote’ and ‘predicted percentage of dissatisfied’ indices.
