Analysis of Congestion Reduction Using Variable Ticket Gates at Urban Railway Stations

초록

In this study, numerical analysis was conducted on congestion reduction using variable ticket gates at urban railway stations. In urban railway stations, since the entrance and exit directions of the ticket gates are fixed, it is difficult to cope with any temporary increase in passengers in a certain direction. The variable ticket gate system analyzes the flow of passengers in each direction using an image processing control system and changes the entrance and exit directions of the ticket gate in real time according to the number of passengers in each direction. Using P-FLOW, a passenger flow analysis program developed by the Korea Railroad Research Institute, the change in congestion level when the variable ticket gate system is used was numerically analyzed. As a result of the study, using the variable ticket gate system that changes the ticket gate entrance and exit directions in real time according to the number of passengers and the direction of movement, it was possible to alleviate the congestion level of passenger flow at railway stations.
