PRELIMINARY HAZARD ANALYSIS OF URBAN TRAIN CONTROL SYSTEM

Although there are many different urban train control system in Korea, there is no specific procedure and methodology to guarantee the safety of that critical system. This paper deals with the preliminary hazard analysis (PHA) that is one of the diverse safety assessment techniques. The PHA procedure is to deduce system functions by reviewing system safety requirements, to identify related hazards, and to analyze hazards in order to estimate, reduce and control the risks initiated by the hazards. The identified hazards are categorized in 5 divisions. In this paper, especially electrical division among these divisions is analyzed.
