Basic Study on the Modelling of Air Spring for Secondary Suspension of Capsule Train

초록

The air spring is a spring that gets elasticity from compressed air. In a capsule train or railway vehicle, air spring is located between bogie and car body to support the load of car body. In addition, as a component of a secondary suspension, air spring reduces vibration transmitted from bogie and car body, therefore it affects the dynamic behavior of a vehicle. Air spring provides excellent ride quality to the passenger, but if the dynamic performance of air spring is insufficient, stability and especially ride comfort be deteriorated. Therefore, it is important to understand the performance of air spring for providing high quality service. However, it is a difficult to understand accurately about the performance of air spring because of nonlinear characteristics. In this study, the parameters were estimated accurately for the some mathematical models of the air spring using the test results on the dynamic characteristics of the air spring which is used for high-speed train. Parameter identifications are about four mathematical models for the vertical movement of air spring: Spring and dashpot, Nishimura, SIMPACK, and Vampire [1] [2] [3]. In order to perform the simulation, mathematical expressions were developed for each model and the parameters which are derived from each mathematical model were obtained for the measurement data using curve fitting. The obtained mathematical models were compared with the measurement results by graph. Based on the simulation result, characteristics of parameters of each mathematical model were analyzed."
