Modeling and Verification of Distance Relay for AC Electric Railway System by using Real-Time Simulator

초록

Distance relays for power supply system protection in domestic electric railways use hand-calculated values ? or pre-measured values ?for setting. To measure the short-circuit impedancem, the method of forcibly simulating the fault has been generally utilized. However, it may affect the sensitive communication facilities in the vicinity or cause human and economic loss. In addition, It is dangerous to directly apply the fault to the high-voltage line. Therefore, research related to setting and verification of protection facilities based on real-time simulator is required. In this study, a distance relay S/W model for real-time simulator was developed. The developed model was verified through comparison with the displayed value in the actual protective relay after simulating the fault. The relay model developed in this study can be used for verification of protection coordination performance with protection relay H/W, based on hardware in loop simulation in the future.
