Recent wind farm management system (WFMS) applications with hierarchical reactive power control provide a real-time solution to compute an objective function for a subclass of voltage management. According to the current power converter control scheme, they can be implemented in the control process independently in a modularized form. This study focuses on hierarchical voltage and reactive power control in wind farms, which is suitable for implementation across diverse wind farm configurations. It provides a real-time solution that computes an objective function specific to a voltage management technique. Unlike previous literature that integrates multiple factors into a unified solution, this study presents a modularized approach, allowing the incorporation of each component separately into the control process. Historically, management solutions heavily relied on servers according to pre-designed code, while a WFMS typically consists of a server that can flexibly change operational modes according to pre-designed code to perform real-time actions. However, this work presents a flexible modular system that can operate independently. The proposed approach can be readily applied to a hierarchical solution prioritizing control over reactive power consumption.
