초록
This study aims to establish the impact area of regional performance facilities, particularly cultural and arts centers, through empirical analysis. To this end, spatial data were constructed to account for the locational characteristics of regional performance facilities. Based on these data, a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) was conducted to identify the key characteristics of the facilities, while cluster analysis was employed to establish criteria for facility classification. Finally, the impact area was defined through the analysis of telecommunication big data. The empirical analysis of the impact area revealed differences depending on the cumulative proportion of visitors. From a more conservative perspective, at the 80% cumulative proportion, metropolitan-level facilities encompassed administrative districts within a 25 km travel distance, while facilities with a potential national-level function encompassed districts within a 40 km range. However, when the threshold was relaxed to a 95% cumulative proportion, the scope extended to 80 km for metropolitan-level facilities and 110 km for national-level facilities. This study is significant in that it establishes criteria for classifying types of performance facilities and empirically presents the range of impact areas for facilities with metropolitan and national reach, thereby suggesting a new approach to defining impact areas.
