In-situ measurement of dynamic responses of track, and vibration and structure-borne noise of a railway station under traffic with floating slab track

In the present study, to evaluate the performance of a new floating slab track using high-performance rubber mount, it was installed in a railway station under traffic and the dynamic responses of track, the structural vibration of station and the structure-borne noise inside have been measured. The newly developed rubber mount has high durability and stability by distributing load more uniformly due to multi-layer structure consisting of conical rubber and steel composites, and is equipped with a hydraulic cylinder inside, providing self-track lifting, easy post-alignment after lifting, and easy inspection and replacement of rubber mounts in service. The results of dynamic responses of track show that the design of the discontinuous parts like the transition zone to the conventional concrete slab track and slab joints is quite suitable. it is proven that its mitigation performance for the structural vibration and structure-borne noise is much higher than that of the conventional floating slab track using rubber mat. Therefore, when the rubber mount and the floating slab including transition zone and slab joints are properly designed according to train speed, it is expected to be an efficient countermeasure for mitigating the vibration and structure-borne noise induced by high-speed train
